ULLE ECO ENERGY

ACTIVITIES

ULLE ECO ENERGY together with associated companies has been active offshore since 1990, with a wealth of diverse proven experience to undertake the challenges that carbon storage offshore is demanding. According to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the International Energy Agency (IEA), Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) is a prerequisite, and it will be virtually impossible without Carbon Capture to achieve the targets of net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050 and limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees.

The Swedish Government Public Inquiry SOU 2020:4 "Towards a climate positive future" propose that Sweden stores carbon dioxide as a way to reduce zero emissions by 2045 and then negative emissions, that 1.8 million tones of carbon dioxide be separated and stored annually by 2030. The Swedish Energy Agency shall, as part of ordinary activities, be a national center for carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) and thereby promote the appropriate application of CCS in Sweden. The Energy Agency shall also produce a proposal for an agreement that enables the export of carbon dioxide from Swedish operations for long-term geological storage and that ensures that transport and storage takes place in a safe and responsible manner.

ULLE ECO ENERGY promote the concept of injecting CO2 in mature and depleted offshore reservoirs using well known technology. Concepts for CO2 transported by ships is under development. The CO2 transport carrier design elements has similarities to existing LPG vessels, based on proven technology.
